Young Minds Took Centre Stage as CRESCENDO 2026 Brought an Enchanted World to Life at Calcutta Boys' School

Kolkata: Calcutta Boys' School celebrated creativity, music and theatre through its annual concert, CRESCENDO 2026, which concluded after two memorable evenings on August 6 and 7 at the school's Main Campus. Centred around the theme, The Enchanted Forest – A Journey Beyond the Ordinary into a World Where Magic Comes Alive, the programme showcased the artistic talents and imagination of its students through a rich blend of music, drama and performance.

The evening commenced with a soulful rendition of The Prayer, followed by captivating performances by the CBS Choir, including the Rabindra Sangeet Momo Chitte Niti Nritye and People All Over the World. The highlight of the programme was the school's original theatrical production, The Enchanted Woods, which creatively brought together iconic fairy-tale characters such as Peter Pan, Snow White and Little Red Riding Hood. The performance reflected the confidence, creativity and stagecraft of the young performers while conveying meaningful lessons on empathy and courage.

Chief Guest Dr Sr A. Nirmala, Teacher-in-Charge of Loreto College, praised the school's efforts in nurturing holistic development. "Thank you for believing in the dreams of the children. Academics is important, but empathy is a life skill that needs to be nurtured, and the play beautifully conveyed that message," she said.

The choir later enthralled the audience with spirited renditions of A Million Dreams and Send It On. The programme concluded with the School Song, the National Song and the National Anthem.

Principal and Secretary Raja McGee said, "Every chapter in the mysteries of our lives left us wiser and more experienced, and that was exactly what our children portrayed through this play. I thanked the parents for their unwavering support of the institution and for encouraging their children in all their endeavours."

The successful conclusion of CRESCENDO 2026 reaffirmed Calcutta Boys' School's commitment to fostering artistic excellence alongside academic learning, providing students with a platform to express creativity, build confidence and embrace values beyond the classroom.
