*Kolkata, 6th June 2026:* Desun Hospital organised *Aarohan 2026*, its flagship recognition platform celebrating excellence, determination, resilience, and achievement among young people, on Saturday. The event brought together students, parents, educators, and distinguished leaders from the fields of education and healthcare to honour academic excellence and inspire young minds to pursue their aspirations with dedication and confidence.
The word Aarohan signifies ascent or rising higher, symbolising the journey of growth, achievement, and self-discovery undertaken by every young achiever. Through this initiative, Desun Hospital recognises outstanding academic performers while reinforcing the importance of perseverance, commitment, and continuous learning.
Building on the success of its inaugural edition in 2025, which was among the first initiatives in Eastern India to bring together academic toppers and neurodiverse achievers on a common platform of recognition, Aarohan 2026 expanded its reach by bringing together a larger community of students, educators, parents, institutions, and thought leaders. The initiative seeks to recognise outstanding academic achievers across different education boards while fostering stronger engagement between educational institutions, students, parents, and the healthcare community.
The programme was graced by *Prof. (Dr.) Sanku Bose, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Amity University Kolkata*, and *Dr Saumitra Bharadwaj, Group Director, Desun Hospital*, along with educators, parents, and invited guests. The gathering celebrated the accomplishments of students and highlighted the importance of recognising merit and nurturing future leaders.
Sharing his thoughts, *Prof. (Dr.) Sanku Bose, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Amity University Kolkata*, said, "Academic excellence is not merely about securing good results; it is about cultivating curiosity, resilience, discipline, and a lifelong passion for learning. Platforms like Aarohan play a significant role in recognising and encouraging young achievers, inspiring them to dream bigger, embrace innovation, and contribute meaningfully to society. Such initiatives help create a culture where achievement is celebrated and future leaders are nurtured with confidence and purpose."
*Ms Shaoli Dutta, CEO, Desun Hospital, and as alumnus of Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA*, said, "Aarohan is a celebration of dedication, perseverance, and achievement. Recognising young achievers not only acknowledges their hard work but also motivates them to continue pursuing their aspirations with confidence and purpose. At Desun Hospital, we believe that nurturing future generations extends beyond healthcare. Health, education, emotional well-being, and personal development are deeply interconnected, and Aarohan reflects our commitment to supporting young minds in their journey towards excellence."
*Dr Saumitra Bharadwaj, Group Director, Desun Hospital, and an alumnus of Mayo College, Ajmer, Rajasthan*, said, "As a leading JCI and NABH-accredited healthcare institution, Desun Hospital views Aarohan as an extension of its broader commitment to community engagement and social development. The initiative aims to create a culture where achievement, resilience, inclusion, and well-being are equally valued, while encouraging students to continue striving for excellence. Through this initiative, we aim to create an environment where achievement is celebrated, potential is encouraged, and future leaders are inspired to dream bigger and achieve more."
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, parents, and educators, making it a meaningful celebration of achievement, aspiration, and the limitless potential of young minds.
