GLF Business School Host International ConferenceAI Horizons 2025 in Kolkata

Kolkata, December 15, 2025: GLF Business School, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), West Bengal Regional Branch, organized its annual flagship international conference titled AI Horizons 2025 on the theme “Co-creating the Future” on 12 December 2025 in Kolkata. The conference brought together policymakers, industry leaders, academicians, and researchers to deliberate on the evolving role of artificial intelligence in shaping governance, industry, and society.

The event was inaugurated by Shri Manjit Nayak, Director, Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), who delivered the Inaugural Address, highlighting the growing importance of AI-driven innovation and digital ecosystems in India’s development journey. On behalf of the organizers, Prof. Lopamudra Bhattacharyya, Founder & CEO, GLF Business School, delivered the Welcome Address, outlining the vision and objectives of AI Horizons 2025. Prof. Sibranjan Chatterjee, Honorary Secretary, IIPA – West Bengal Regional Branch, discussed the role of IIPA in developing a robust and collaborative ecosystem. Prof. Avijit Banerjee, Director, GLF Business School, presented the Theme Address, emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts among academia, industry, and government to co-create an inclusive and sustainable AI-powered future. 


The session on Governance & Inclusive Development was chaired by Dr. Suparno Moitra, Economist and Public Policy Specialist, and addressed by Mr. Indranil Basu, Joint Secretary, Government of West Bengal (Disaster Management Department), and Mr. Soumalya Ghosh, Deputy Secretary, Government of West Bengal (Fire Department). The session generated meaningful discussions on strengthening governance structures, improving institutional responsiveness, and ensuring that development initiatives remain inclusive, sustainable, and citizen-centric.


One of the key highlights of the event was an engaging and insightful session titled “How AI Is Reshaping Fundamental & Translational Research,” which brought together eminent scientists from premier research institutions in India and the USA. The session examined the transformative role of artificial intelligence in accelerating scientific discovery, strengthening translational research outcomes, and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration across biomedical and life sciences. Prof. Lopamudra Bhattacharyya, Founder & CEO, and Prof. Avijit Banerjee, Director, GLF Business School, felicitated the distinguished experts—Prof. Tanya Das (Former ICMR Emeritus Scientist, Bose Institute), Dr. Saikat Chakrabarti (Senior Principal Scientist & Deputy Head, CSIR-IICB), Dr. Asish Ray Chaudhuri (University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine, Texas, USA), and Prof. Gaurisankar Sa (ICMR Emeritus Scientist, Bose Institute)—in recognition of their valuable contributions to research and scientific advancement.



A focused and insightful session on “Sustainable Industry & Generative AI” was held as part of AI Horizons 2025, examining how generative artificial intelligence is driving sustainability, operational efficiency, and innovation across industries. The session brought together industry leaders and technology experts to share perspectives on responsible AI adoption and its role in building future-ready enterprises.

The session opened with a Keynote Address by Dr. Indranil Mitra, Partner, PwC, who highlighted the strategic importance of generative AI in enabling sustainable business models, optimizing resources, and enhancing decision-making across sectors. The session was chaired by Prof. Sukumar Ray Chaudhuri, Director, Meghnath Saha Institute of Technology, who guided the discussions and facilitated meaningful interactions among the speakers.

The distinguished speakers included Mr. Kaushik Ghosh, Executive Director & CEO, Globe India (a unit of Yatra Online), who shared industry insights on AI-led transformation in the travel and services sector, and Mr. Anurup Das, Associate Director, Cognizant Consulting, who discussed enterprise use cases of generative AI and its growing impact on sustainable digital transformation. The session underscored the importance of aligning technological innovation with sustainability goals, reinforcing AI Horizons 2025 as a platform for forward-looking dialogue between industry, academia, and technology leaders.
Experts from the technology industry came together for a combined roundtable discussion at AI Horizons 2025, where two thematic sessions—“Digital Transformation & the Future of AI” and “AI-Driven Innovation & Societal Mobilization”—were clubbed into a single, interactive forum. The roundtable focused on how artificial intelligence is reshaping digital ecosystems, driving innovation, and enabling large-scale societal impact across sectors.

The session was chaired by Mr. Surya Narayan Saha, author of Reform (a book on AI), who steered the discussions on emerging AI trends and their implications for businesses and society. Industry leaders Mr. Goutam Kanjilal, Global Head – Solutions & Delivery, Exavalu; Mr. Animesh Mukherjee, AVP – Insurance Solutions, Zensar Technologies; and Ms. Aindrila Basu, Associate Partner – Financial Services, IBM, shared insights on enterprise-level digital transformation and the future trajectory of AI adoption.

The discussion was further enriched by contributions from Mr. Arunashish Ghosh, Associate Partner, Tech Mahindra Consulting; Mr. Raution Jaiswal, CEO, InsuredMine; Mr. Chandi Prasad Ojha, CTO, Movate; and Mr. Sovik Sinha Chowdhury, Co-Founder & COO, IEMLabs. Speakers emphasized the role of AI in fostering innovation, enhancing citizen engagement, and mobilizing technology for inclusive societal development. The combined roundtable reaffirmed AI Horizons 2025 as a collaborative platform connecting industry expertise with future-oriented AI discourse.
