The budding Karatekas of John’s Karate Academy, Kolkata showcased their magnificent skills and talent as 21 of their players participated in the sports extravaganza, the 7th International Karate Championship, under the aegis of Karate Do Association of Bengal (KAB) in association with the All India Seishinkai Shito Ryu Karate Do Federation 2023 which was held on July 29 and 30 at Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata, and secured 9 Gold, 10 Silver, and 13 Bronze medals by participating in both Kata and Kumite events. To commemorate this victory and the achievement of the students, they organized a Felicitation cum certificate distribution ceremony, celebrating the success stories of the young karatekas on 23rd August 2023 at their Academy premises. 

This event got a new dimension with the presence of an accomplished and daring police officer Smt. Santi Das Basak (WBPS) SP, West Bengal Human Rights Commission, is one of the best in the West Bengal Police Department and is recognized for her tough stance on crime. She had resolved a number of cases starting from human trafficking to ensuring the security of the city, with great conviction. Smt. Anindita Sarbadhikari, an Eminent Filmmaker was also present to encourage the kids. Through her Speech Smt. Santi Das Basak shared her real-life experiences with the kids and encouraged them to continue learning karate along with their studies. The kids were extremely energetic and well-trained, as they showcased some of their skills in front of the guests. Two of the senior kids namely Shreesh Kar (State Champion and International Gold Medalist) and Aritro Roy demonstrated their magnificent nunchaku skills. Ronav Sen (International Gold Medalist) demonstrated a smashing tile-breaking skill. These kids were felicitated by Smt. Santi Das Basak and was overwhelmed by their achievements. Overall it was a great and unique experience for everyone who was present there. Thus in the near future, the Karate kids of John’s Academy for Fitness will continue to show their magic and make the spectators spellbound with their extraordinary performance on the mats under the magnificent guidance of Sensei John.  Waiting to see them in action very soon...
